Inspired by her own kids’ bold, colorful, fun and whimsical drawings of crabs, Nelli Khatmoullina created the Crabbies collection. Her family often travels to the Charleston, South Carolina area to vacation in the summer, and they love to watch the funny crabs scuttling on the shore. Those memories of warmth, laughter, and beautiful beaches warm her up during the cold winters in Cleveland. She designed this collection to capture that vibrant and fun feeling, to lift moods and spirits.

About the Artist

Nelli Khatmoullina is a hardworking and talented surface pattern designer and illustrator from Cleveland, Ohio (USA), who has a charming, sophisticated, yet cheerful and bold style with a touch of folk or Romanticism sometimes. She has a creative bend of mind and a passion for understanding art as a powerful form of expression, but Nelli especially enjoys creating floral and children patterns and illustrations. 

She graduated from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a Graphic Design major and she has a Diploma in Fine Art from Ufa Art School, Russia.
