The monkey has landed! On May 28, 1959, a squirrel monkey named Miss Baker was the first U.S. animal to fly in space and safely return to Earth. Designer Allison Cole was inspired by Miss Baker and 1960's retro space illustrations for children.
About the Artist
Allison Cole is an illustrator and artist who never stops creating. She loves dreaming up characters, scenes, and typography that reflect a playful spirit and bright colors. Her illustrations have been featured on all kinds of different products, including book covers, stationery, wall art, giftware and magazine covers. Allison is based in Rhode Island, where she lives with her husband, son and two cats.
